Requirements Engineering Community Days Leipzig – AI in Requirements Engineering

The Requirements Engineering Community Days, taking place May 5–6, 2026, in Leipzig, provide a platform for practical exchange on modern methods and challenges in requirements engineering.

Location: Leipziger Foren, Leipzig

Phil Stüpfert from Osseno | a PeakAvenue company will be speaking at the event.

In his presentation, “AI in Requirements Engineering: Assistance Instead of Automation – Integrating AI Effectively into the Process,” he demonstrates how artificial intelligence can be used as a targeted support tool within requirements engineering.

The talk focuses on a key real-world challenge: requirements are often not provided in a structured format, but rather as a heterogeneous collection of statements, questions, or expectations—such as those arising from RFPs, customer inquiries, or early sales phases. These are frequently incomplete, not atomic, or mix different types of requirements.

The session explores how AI can support the analysis, structuring, and quality assessment of such requirements—without replacing human decision-making. Instead of full automation, the emphasis is on the meaningful integration of AI into existing processes.

Using practical examples, the presentation shows how AI helps to:

  • categorize and structure requirements
  • identify quality issues early
  • surface critical questions
  • create a solid basis for decision-making

At the same time, full traceability is ensured throughout the process.
